CPE & Testing Questions

Yes. Every CE course Skelly Skills offers is approved for continuing education for RD/RDNs and DTR/NDTRs by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Yes. The Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education–the CBDCE (formerly the NCBDE)–which certifies CDCESs (formerly CDEs) states that any CPE course approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is approved for Continuing Education for CDCESs. All Skelly Skills’ CE courses are CDR approved therefore, our courses are automatically approved to provide continuing education to CDCESs.

Further, the CBDCE states “All CDCESs who select renewal of certification by continuing education will engage in a personal assessment to identify professional needs and participate in appropriate activities that are inclusive of the Examination Content Outline in the current Handbook.” For more information on how to renew your CDCES by continuing education, please click here.

This depends on what type of course you completed:

1. If you attended a live webinar: We email your CE Cert 24 hours after the live webinar. You must complete the Feedback Survey first.

2. If you watched an on-demand one-hour webinar: You will complete your Feedback Survey through SurveyMonkey. The instructions and link to the Feedback Survey for that webinar are located at the bottom of the webpage where you watched the webinar. Once you complete the Feedback Survey, your CE Certificate will immediately be available for download and/or printing.

Skelly Skills offers two types of Continuing Education (CE) (Some of you call this Continuing Professional Development—CPD—same thing!) The two types of CE we offer are self-study CE courses using printed or eBook formats and CE webinars. For each of these types of CE, we offer Continuing Professional Education Units (CPEUs–some of you called these CEUs, clock hours or CPD hours).

Self-study Courses

Our self-study CE courses all include a CE exam. This is important for some of you because you need assessable CPD hours, or you *may* be limited by the number of self-study hours you can accumulate. For each course, you will need to complete the CE exam at our online testing system. It’s easy and you’ll get your CE Certificate of Completion as soon as you pass the course.

Webinars

Our CE webinars do not generally include a CE exam unless they are a Webinar Series with multiple webinars. Once you attend (live or recorded) and complete the Feedback Survey, you’ll immediately get your CE Certificate of Completion.

How to Purchase and Complete a Course

Step 1: Visit Skelly Skills and choose the topic and book you want to study. The number of CPEUs/assessable CPD hours are shown on each product page. Note to international customers: You can change the display currency using the icons on the right of the page.

Step 2: Pay online—you’ll get virtual courses immediately or else you’ll receive the book in the mail along with the CE exam booklet (we call this a ‘CE Evaluation Form’).

Step 3: Read the book and complete the CE Evaluation Form as you go along. Once you have finished, complete the online exam at our testing site using the credentials provided to you in your CE Evaluation Form.

If you’ve purchased a webinar, watch your webinar and then complete the Feedback Survey linked at the bottom of the webinar page.

That ‘s it! Once you have passed your exam, you’ll receive a PDF certificate of completion which includes the number of CPEUs/CEUs/assessable CPD hours.

Visit our testing site at: https://skellyskills.onlinetests.app/Assess.aspx and enter the Assessment ID and password you were provided with for your course (they are located in the front of your CE Evaluation booklet OR in the back of some of our CE coursebooks).

You can save and restart the exam multiple times. Make sure to click the ‘next’ button at the bottom of the page and it will save all your work thus far. When you log back in, it will take you back to the page of the exam where you left off.

You must get at least 70% of questions correct to pass the exam.

If you do not, the system will show you ONLY the questions you got incorrect on the next pass. You must then answer 70% of THOSE questions correctly to pass the exam. This is true EACH time you don’t get 70%—the system will show you only the questions you answered incorrectly, and you must get 70% on THAT subsequent attempt to ‘pass’ the exam.

You can take the exam multiple times without penalty until you pass. Once you pass, you’ll receive your CE Certificate of Completion immediately via email.
The expiration date of each course is listed on the product page. Check there to learn when the course expires. Each Skelly Skills CE course is initially approved for 3 years from date of course release. After that time, we will review the course for possible extension. If we end up extending the course, we will update the expiration date for that particular course on the product page. You can always check back there for the current course expiration date.

On each CE course product page, scroll to the tabbed content near the bottom of the page. Under the section titled “Performance Indicators and Learning Needs Codes”, you will find this information for that course.

Please keep in mind: these are SUGGESTED Performance Indicators (PIs) and Learning Needs Codes (LNCs) only. CDR allows you to apply ANY PI or LNC to a given course if you believe it applies. Suggested Learning Level is listed in both ‘Performance Indicators and Learning Needs Codes’ tab and the ‘Course Description’ tab. Please be aware the same guidelines apply as do for PI’s and LNCs—you can apply any learning level to a given course that you feel applies.

All free CE articles and webinars require that you sign up for our email newsletter. On each product page, click the “Sign Up Now!” button in order to get access. If you are still unable to get access to the article or webinar, please email us at info@skellyskills.com with the following info:

  1. The name of the free CE webinar and/or article you would like to have access to and
  2. The email where you would like us to send the CE webinar and/or article. We will typically respond within 24 hours during normal business days.

The Commission on Dietetic Registration allows RD/RDNs to rollover 15 CPEUs per 5 year reporting period, and DTRs to rollover 10 CPEUs. Orders

We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, and PayPal payments. While we offer a currency converter for display purposes, all payments are in US dollars.

Payment via Purchase Order is also accepted. See the section below on Purchase Orders for details.

You only have to pay sales tax if you are located in the state of Virginia as this is where Skelly Skills is located.  Sales tax will automatically be added to orders being shipped to the state of Virginia.

Click the My Account link:   at the top right hand side of our site, then click “Order History” to view orders you have placed. Only orders that are still in payment pending status can be changed. Orders that are processing or shipped are no longer editable. Contact us at info@skellyskills.com or at 1.888.Skelly1 if you’d like to edit your order once you’ve placed it. We will do everything we can to make sure your order is changed, as long as it hasn’t shipped yet!

You should receive a tracking number via email when your order has shipped. If you’ve lost this email or did not receive it and want to track your order on our website, you can click the My Account link:   at the top right hand side of our site, then click “Order History” to view orders you have placed.

Click on the order you want to track. At the bottom of the order, you’ll see tracking information if your order has shipped and a button that says “Track”. If you do not see tracking information on your order, it means your order hasn’t shipped yet. 

If your order hasn’t shipped yet and it’s been more than 5 business days since your order was placed, please contact us at info@skellyskills.com so we can help track your order.

No, each learner must purchase the entire course. We do offer 20% off orders over $259; additionally, we can create a custom quote for your audience with additional discounts for larger orders. Please contact us for a custom quote at info@skellyskills.com

Please note: many of the CE courses we publish in house have the CPEU/CEU Evaluation/Reporting Form information in the back of the book. Please check the back of the book first to ensure it is not located there. If it’s not, please contact info@skellyskills.com for assistance.

At Skelly Skills, we strive to keep our CE courses in stock whenever possible. To the extent we are unable to ship you your order within our shipping window, we will alert you via email as soon as possible, along with our estimated shipping date.

Don’t worry! All your links to your downloads and webinars are located in your account dashboard. Click on “My Downloads” to see a list of your eBooks, Webinar links, and CE Evaluation Forms. You can click on the buttons on the far right of the table to access your item.

Placing an order using a Purchase Order (PO) is simple:

1. Simply go through the normal checkout process, adding the products you want to your cart.
 
2. At checkout, enter the information for your company (shipping and billing address, and the shipping type desired) and select ‘Purchase Order’ as the method of payment. You will also be asked to enter your PO number; if you do not know the PO number, simply type ‘TBD’. Skelly Skills will fill in this information once we receive your PO.
 
3. Once you receive your order confirmation and total amount, simply email, fax or mail a Purchase Order in that amount to:

Once we receive your PO, your order will be processed and shipped and you will receive an invoice from Skelly Skills.

Shipping & Returns

If an item is in stock, it will generally ship next business day and can take 5-7 business days for delivery in the US, 8-10 business days for delivery to Canada. Shipping times to other countries may vary. 

Also, after placing your order, you may click the My Account link:    at the top right hand side of our site to track the status of your order. You will receive an order confirmation email once you’ve completed placing your order, and a shipment confirmation email with tracking information when your order has shipped.

Click the My Account link:  in the upper right corner of our site to check your order’s status. Click “Order History”, then find the order in question on that page. Click on the order to display order details. If your order has shipped there will be tracking information at the bottom of the order.

Shipping costs vary based on weight, shipping method, and destination and are calculated at checkout. Shipping charges are subject to change due to periodic changes in carrier and packing materials costs. You can review your cart to preview your shipping charges before checking out.

Account Questions

You can create an account during the checkout process when you place an order. Your information is NEVER sold to any other company and is kept completely private. Please view our Privacy Policy for more information.

Click the My Account link:  in the upper right corner of our site to access your account dashboard. From the left-hand menu (desktop), click “Addresses” to change shipping or billing address information, or “Account details” to change your name, email, or password.

Click the My Account link:  in the upper right corner of our site. Under the login box you’ll see a link that says “Lost your password?”. Click that link to be taken to a password reset form. Click the “Reset Password” button after entering your username or email address. You will receive a link to create a new password via email. After you have received your password reset email, click on the link in the email to reset your password: This link will take you to the password reset page, where you will enter your new, secure password: After clicking “save” you’ll get a message that your password has been reset successfully and you’ll see the Login form below. You can now login to your account with your username and new password. After clicking “Log In”, you’ll be taken to the “My Account” page. From here you can review your account information, or if you have items saved in your cart, you can view your cart and continue to checkout by clicking the Cart Icon at the top right of the page: If you are still having problems trying to reset your password, contact our web developer.

Billing Questions

Click the My Account link:  in the upper right corner of our site to review your orders. You may compare your order history on our website with your financial records. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact customer service at info@skellyskills.com for assistance.

Click the My Account link:  in the upper right corner of our site to review your order history. Click “Order History” then click on the order that you would like to print or save as a pdf.

In your browser menu, click File > Print. You’ll have the option to print your order receipt or save it as a pdf.

For returns, credits usually take 7-10 business days from the time we receive your returned item(s). If you were issued a refund for another reason, credits take 7-10 business days from the time we confirm via phone or email that a refund will be issued.

Your credit card will be charged within 24 hours prior to shipment of your item(s).

Enterprise & Reseller Accounts

Interested in Becoming a Reseller of Skelly Skills Products?

Skelly Skills sells directly to consumers. However, if you are interested in becoming a reseller, we require that you submit an application at least 30 days in advance of placement of any request, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. In order to apply, you must submit an application, and we will do our best to notify you within 30 days whether you have been approved. To submit your application, please email the following information to info@skellyskills.com with ‘reseller application’ in the subject line:

  • your company’s name and website
  • the product(s) you are interested in purchasing
  • the approximate number of copies you would need initially
  • the date you would need these copies
  • intended audience for the copies
  • a contact person’s name and information

Once we receive your application, we will do our best to respond to you within 30 calendar days. However, with our limited resources, we are unable to guarantee this turnaround. Resellers are urged to contact Skelly Skills well in advance of their deadline. Note: Requests for larger print runs (more than 25 copies) will require an additional minimum of 30 business days after reseller approval.
