1. define the restrictive PRIDE eating cycle
2. define the overeating SHAME eating cycle
3. recognize the connection between disordered eating patterns and blood glucose control
4. use appropriate counseling dialogue to identify disordered and emotional eating behaviors in diabetes clients
5. use appropriate goal-setting dialogue to establish behavioral goals for diabetes clients engaging in or at risk for disordered and emotional eating behaviors
